We’re a small, focused crew that builds accessory dwelling units and room additions across Santa Clarita. No rotating cast of subs you’ve never met. The people who walk your property, pull your permits, and frame your walls are the same people you’ll see at final inspection. Troy Eastman leads every project personally, and the four people below do the actual building, scheduling, and problem-solving. Together we’ve completed ADUs in Valencia, Saugus, Canyon Country, and Newhall, and each job gets the same written-price, written-guarantee treatment from day one.

Troy Eastman, Owner & Lead Builder
Troy started building ADUs when most Santa Clarita homeowners still called them “granny flats” and the city hadn’t yet streamlined the permit process. He’s been with the Relay Home Co. family since 2006 and leads every Benson ADU Santa Clarita project from first site walk to final sign-off. Troy does the initial measurements, runs the feasibility check against setback and lot-coverage rules, and writes the price himself before any work starts. He’s the one who walks you through prefab options from Abodu, Cover, and Dvele versus a site-built approach, explaining the tradeoffs in plain English. On weekends he’s usually hiking Towsley Canyon with a thermos of coffee and a printed set of plans he swears he isn’t working on.
Marcus R., Senior Installer
Marcus has eleven years of residential construction experience, the last six of them focused almost entirely on ADUs and home additions. He’s our go-to for prefab panel assembly and handles most of the James Hardie cladding work, which he installs with an attention to flashing detail that building inspectors in Santa Clarita have commented on more than once. Marcus holds fall-protection and equipment-operation certifications and runs the crane-coordination day when a factory-built module from Boxabl or Mighty Buildings arrives on site. He also keeps a small notebook in his vest with the exact shim count from every foundation he’s ever leveled, which he insists is normal.
Dana K., Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone when you call Benson ADU Santa Clarita, and she’s the reason nothing falls through the cracks between permit submission and final inspection. She schedules city inspections, tracks material deliveries, sends the digital invoices, and calls you with a live arrival time before anyone shows up at your door. Dana knows the Santa Clarita ADU process well enough to tell you what stage your project is in without putting you on hold, and she’s the contact for the 365-Day Done Right Promise if anything needs attention after move-in. She’s also the one who sends before-and-after photos at each milestone, so you can watch the project even if you’re at work all day. Outside the office, Dana runs half-marathons and has strong opinions about the best breakfast burrito in Canyon Country.
Leo T., Apprentice Builder
Leo joined us two years ago through a local trades program and has earned his place on every job site since. He shadows Marcus on framing and prefab panel assembly, preps sites for foundation pours, and handles the unglamorous but essential work: keeping cuts square, layouts true, and materials organized. Leo is background-checked and uniformed like everyone else, so when you see him on your property you know exactly who he is and why he’s there. He’s currently working toward his own contractor’s license and asks Troy so many questions about setback rules and ADU size limits that Troy started bringing two sets of plans to job walks. When he’s not on site, Leo plays bass in a garage band and is teaching himself finish carpentry by building furniture for his apartment.
